I believe we all deserve a life where we live in harmony with our surroundings and spend time on what truly matters. For me, this CAN ONLY BE DONE IN AND THROUGH COMMUNITY
This insight led me to leave my corporate career in sustainability, investment, and HR consulting and descend to the grassroots in 2021.. I switched the security of a financial salary for Earth-produced wealth. Liberating myself from an 60 hr workweek to match the financial ROI of a shareholder that I didn't know.
I joined the founders of 2 bioregional initiatives in The Netherlands and ultimately ended up at participating in the community work of Los Higuerones and co-structuring a flow fund and the systems for a bioregional financing facility in the Osa Peninsula. Both of these initiative walk the talk of regeneration in action and are dedicated to strengthening the local social, economical, ecological, and cultural resilience.
Since the grassroots movement is barely recognized in the world of impact investing and regenerative finance, I had to redefine income and wealth.
Drawing from my learnings of this work, the local people, years of studying Organizational Science, Strategic Leadership toward Sustainability, with Indigenous elders and practicing holistic approaches, incl. NVC, NLP, and mind altering techniques, I learned how to co-create the conditions to make it work.
The way I started investing my assets has led to a resilient income model with diversified income streams rooted in multiple capitals by leveraging non-financial exchanges & alternative currencies.
Today, I still dedicate most of my time, through Los Higuerones and ReGenerOsa Collective, to recommoning wealth and uplifting native, land-based communities who are guarding the wisdom that modern-day society is seeking.
Besides this work, I am co-running VINE Institute for Non-Violent Communication and offer my 1:1 and group work.
